Clair House boasts six paddocks and one holding yard in addition to the main house allotment. All are serviced with water and ample fencing. Peter and Abigail over the years have cleared the gorse and black-berry on the entire property. In the mid 00’s the main paddock was re-pastured and conditioned in preparation for planting 1,000 hazel nut trees. Due to work commitments this venture did not proceed however the condition of the paddocks, coupled with deep top soil (up to 600mm) and a large dam with an additional 7mgl of water rights would ideally suit many such applications.
Currently the paddocks are home to two horses, Dan and Red who do their best to keep them neat, tidy and fertilized! Depending on the season, the paddocks are slashed via the very reliable old tractor. Should it ever be needed the main dam pump also acts as the fire pump and can deliver ample water to all outlets around the house in case of a potential fire including the main fire hose.
Running parallel to the north boundary is a sealed road that has little traffic flow with views across to Mt Alexandra. The east boundary has the local recreation hall, football oval and tennis courts. The south and west boundaries abut approximately 150acres of an operating Apple Orchard with views over to the hills above Elphinstone. Thus Clair House offers peaceful and serene living whilst being close to all services.
The following pictures will provide a bit of an overview of the paddocks and surrounding vista.
